Marylhurst

This mid 90’s era multi-level, perched high above Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego, had some gorgeous bones, and it was our job to give it major refresh! The formal living room’s color palette was inspired by original artwork by Portland artists Lauren Carrara and Alexys De’Ora, and completely updated with new furnishings from CRLaine, Ambella Home, and Interlude. The dining room table is made from an antique Chinese window. Both living and dining rooms are set atop custom Lapchi area rugs.

Our client—a new empty nester—requested that her children’s former bedrooms be redesigned as hotel-worthy guest suites that still reflect the personalities of her kids.  Her daughter’s room was clad in the most exquisite hand painted grass cloth by Phillip Jeffries, which is complemented by 1920s era casegoods. Her son’s room is a story in crisp minimalism, showcasing a custom walnut rolling desk and matching bedside ledges by Master Furniture Makers, while a collection of original charcoal drawings by a family member provide visual interest.
The master bedroom was also given new life when we repurposed the homeowner’s antique Chinese screen as a unique headboard. Opulent layers of luxury bedding, a bold chandelier and ample nightstands completed the transformation.  The outdated oak kitchen and family room built-ins have new life with a fresh coat of deep green paint. Layering one-of-a-kind antiques, treasured pieces from the client’s personal collection, and modern new furnishings invigorated each space. It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with this homeowner to infuse the home with the family’s personality and make it feel new again!
