Pattern Play in Irvington

A classic home in Portland’s Irvington neighborhood was in need of a major refresh and these homeowners were NOT afraid of pattern and color! An unexpected splash of famously floral “Van Gogh” wallpaper greets you inside the formal entryway and inspires the touches of green throughout the living spaces. Look up in the dining room—to a mesmerizing emerald green ceiling, adding drama to a space we only had to paint to improve. We anchored the stately living room with a bold black and cream patterned rug (we could barely contain our excitement when our clients gave us this go-ahead!) and deep green sofa provides ample space to curl up in front of the fire. A warm cognac leather chair and ottoman cradle rich cheetah print cushions and the most decadent floral velvet graces a pair of custom armchairs across the room. Layer in lighting, sheer draperies and surround it all with the perfect cocoa paint and the transformation is complete!
